If you are having trouble with breastfeeding and feel that you require lactation consultant support please talk to your Midwife, Well Child/ Tamariki Ora Provider or your GP to discuss a referral to our services.
The service is funded by Hauora Tairawhiti and consultations are free but there is a cap on our numbers. A referral from your primary health care giver is required to ensure that those in most need are receiving our support.
If you do not qualify for referral or just require basic breastfeeding support your midwife or Well Child/ Tamariki Ora provider will be able to help you.
Our service is run by a Lactation Consultant who is also a trained midwife.
